Beckham Hyde Carlile

Beckham was born on July 5th at 5:42 PM. He was 8 lbs 4 oz. and 20 and a half inches long.

Our first family photo. Thanks Heather for taking it.

The morning after he was born Bella photography came in and took pictures of him. We weren't going to buy any of them but he looked so darn cute we had to get the disk. Here is just a few of him. One of the first things that Steve and I noticed about Beckham was how big his hands and feet were. The Dr. said he should be a piano player with those fingers. Steve thinks he should be a basketball player.

Steve and I went into the Hospital at 4pm on the the 4th of July to see if I had a Bishop score of a ten. Unfortunately I was only at a nine so they had to keep me at the hospital over night to start me on a cervical cream before they would induce me the next morning. At 5:30 they started me on the cervical cream, a few hours later my contractions were 2-3 min. apart and pretty uncomfortable I didn't get a wink of sleep. After all of that the next morning they checked me at 6:30 and I was only dialated to a two. So at 7 they induced me after an hour my contractions were only a min apart and really painful in fact I was having major back labor. The nurses kept on checking me and saying that I was a trouper for not getting an epidural yet. Finally at 11:30 I had a nurse check me and I was only dialated to a three. Her and the Dr. thought that I wouldn't dialate very quickly if they didn't break my water. So I decided to get an epidural at 12:30 and then they broke my water within an hour I was at a 10 so I am glad I decided to do that. But the Dr. had an emergency c section so I had to hold on a few hours before I could start pushing. At around 4:30 I started to push but Beckham wouldn't budge so they did an ultra sound and found out that he was posterior and that is why I was having so much back labor. So the Dr. got forceps and had me push and he turned Beckham around as I pushed and then finally at 5:42 he came! Steve and I were so thrilled. I thought he was so adorable the moment I saw him. And I just love being a mom!
