1 Month Old

Our little boy is 1 month old as of yesterday! I can't believe how fast this month has gone by and how much older he has gotten.

Here is his cousin Katelyn holding him for the first time. She told me that she was really sad at first that I was pregnant with a boy instead of a girl but then when she saw how cute he was she was really excited that he was a boy.

Here he is at two weeks old with his grandma matching him.

My parents came and stayed with us for two weeks. My mom did all of the cooking and cleaning and they both stayed up with Beckham during the night. I definitely couldn't have done it with out them.

He always sleeps with his arms above his head and I think it is so darling!

Uncle Bryan giving him his first bottle feeding.

Beckham is such a good boy. He loves to snuggle with everyone, he sleeps much better when he is in someones arms. He rolled over for the first time at 19 days old, he did it twice on that day but has not done it since so we'll have to see when he starts doing it again. His eyes have really lightened up, and he definitely has started laughing and smiling more. I just can't wait until he smiles at me but I heard that doesn't happen until they are two months old. I love this little boy to pieces and I am so glad he is a part of our family.

Beckham Hyde Carlile

Beckham was born on July 5th at 5:42 PM. He was 8 lbs 4 oz. and 20 and a half inches long.

Our first family photo. Thanks Heather for taking it.

The morning after he was born Bella photography came in and took pictures of him. We weren't going to buy any of them but he looked so darn cute we had to get the disk. Here is just a few of him. One of the first things that Steve and I noticed about Beckham was how big his hands and feet were. The Dr. said he should be a piano player with those fingers. Steve thinks he should be a basketball player.

Steve and I went into the Hospital at 4pm on the the 4th of July to see if I had a Bishop score of a ten. Unfortunately I was only at a nine so they had to keep me at the hospital over night to start me on a cervical cream before they would induce me the next morning. At 5:30 they started me on the cervical cream, a few hours later my contractions were 2-3 min. apart and pretty uncomfortable I didn't get a wink of sleep. After all of that the next morning they checked me at 6:30 and I was only dialated to a two. So at 7 they induced me after an hour my contractions were only a min apart and really painful in fact I was having major back labor. The nurses kept on checking me and saying that I was a trouper for not getting an epidural yet. Finally at 11:30 I had a nurse check me and I was only dialated to a three. Her and the Dr. thought that I wouldn't dialate very quickly if they didn't break my water. So I decided to get an epidural at 12:30 and then they broke my water within an hour I was at a 10 so I am glad I decided to do that. But the Dr. had an emergency c section so I had to hold on a few hours before I could start pushing. At around 4:30 I started to push but Beckham wouldn't budge so they did an ultra sound and found out that he was posterior and that is why I was having so much back labor. So the Dr. got forceps and had me push and he turned Beckham around as I pushed and then finally at 5:42 he came! Steve and I were so thrilled. I thought he was so adorable the moment I saw him. And I just love being a mom!

Pregnancy Pictures

Here are some pictures of me during the pregnancy. I was not the best at taking pictures. Here is 21 weeks pregnant.

Baby Shower

Since my sister Esther and I were only 10 weeks apart in our pregnancies our family decided to throw us a joint Baby Shower. It was so much fun and we had a huge turnout people barely fit in my house.

My Sister-in-law Katie did all of the decorations and they looked awesome people kept asking her where she bought them but she made all of them they looked so good!

My Mom did the food.

Heather did the games and Cindy made the announcements.

Thanks again for throwing us such a wonderful shower!

Las Vegas

I have a few months of catching up to do that is for sure. At the end of January Steve and I went to Vegas for a work convention that Steve went to. We thought it would be fun to do a getaway before we have our baby and before I got too big. They gave bumped us up to a really nice room and we had a ton of fun and it was nice to relax.

I did not know that they had serendipity in Las Vegas but I was so pleased that they did. I got two frozen hot chocolates in Vegas and I loved them. I got the Double Hot Chocolate and the Peanut Butter one. Right here I am about 18 or 19 weeks pregnant and I just started showing it felt like while we were on the trip.

Since this would be the last vacation before we have kids Steve got us tickets to the Phantom and the Donny and Marie show it was a lot of fun. He got really close tickets too. I am pretty sure we were 5th row and center at the Phantom it was awesome.

Our room had a great view it's too bad it was too cold to go swimming in the pools, caesars palace has really nice pools. We had a ton of fun that is for sure!
